BEUC: Consumer pro project – Exchange of Best Practices Seminar
BEUC is the umbrella group for 46 independent consumer organizations from 32 countries. Their main role is to represent them towards the EU institutions and defend the interests of European consumers. Their daily work makes sure that the EU takes policy decisions to improve the lives of consumers. This covers a range of topics including competition, consumer rights, digital rights, energy, redress and enforcement, financial services, food, health, safety, sustainability, and trade policy.
Consumer PRO is a capacity-building project aimed at making consumer organizations and other actors in consumer policy better equipped to protect consumers in their respective countries. It is an initiative of the European Commission under the European Consumer Programme that started in July 2019 and whose implementation was entrusted to BEUC.
The final event of this year´s Consumer Pro aimed to gather together all the organizations that participated to exchange the lesson learnt during the process and to move forward for the next cycle of the program in the oncoming years.
Alejandro and his colleague Chris accompanied us as we closed a very large-scale two-year project with nearly 100 different participants over 3 separate sessions online. Their live graphic recording helped capture our journey as discussions progressed and evolved, helped us highlight key learning points and patterns for us to bring into future projects, and helped link the separate sessions over different days for many different and diverse participants with varying levels of experience.
We chose to use their services as an extra tool for engagement for our participants, as well as to have their numerous great visuals at the end to use in a final report and other communications, and are very happy with the end result.”
